Tax The Rich

There was once a time called the Golden Age of Capitalism. It was a glorious time, everyone had a house, everyone had a car, everyone had a job, and they all had expendable income. One thing that set things apart were the tax rates. The rich back then were paying a huge share of their taxes, up to 90 percent in some cases. How did the rich survive back then.

Taxes started lowering for the rich, the job creators needed a break. The myth of trickle down economics eventually poisoned the minds of politicians and made the wealth disparity worse. Companies went bankrupt and bonuses went paid. White crimes go unpunished. The system is broken and everyone recognizes it.

The rich are the most privileged class in the USA and enjoy some of the best forms of welfare from the Republican party. Loopholes and tax havens have allowed millionaires to pay tax rates of lower-middle class citizens. It’s outrageous to think that we have let them get away with this for so long. The Iowa Progressive Alliance demands that the rich pay their fair share.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s idea is not radical, and we support it. We are starving smaller programs by allowing the Republicans to keep lowering their taxes. Just recently the Federal Reserve borrowed one Trillion dollars to pay for Trumps taxes. They did not, nor will they pay for themselves.
